International Women’s Day-2023

Society for Welfare, Animation & Development (SWAD) is a philanthropic voluntary organization, an NGO seeks to ‘walk with the poor’ in the eight southern districts (Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada and Kalahandi) of Odisha, through mutual social responsibilities in giving rise to a harmonious and prosperous Odisha, especially empowering the Women. As SWAD’s activities focus on democracy, good governance, entitlement, livelihood, relief to the people in different calamities and dignity of the indigenous and marginalized people, these attempts are intended to serve the greater interests of every individual in the society, particularly the poor, women, children and the disadvantaged vulnerable community. Having this vision and mission of SWAD, we implement the project activities in order to achieve the goal and objective of the project.

International women’s day was celebrated on 7th March 2023 at premises of Block office, Mohana, Gajapati district of Odisha. There were 646 women from 16th Gram Panchayat of Mohana Block participated in this women’s day celebration program. There were Chief Guest and guests of honor presented in this women’s day program, such as Mrs. Lalita Mallick, the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Mohana, as a Chief Guest of the program, Dr. Namita Panda, the health department of Mohana, Miss. Jyochhona Rayo, the Sub-Inspector of Mohana, Mrs. Chandramani Devi, and Mrs. Kabita Samal. The super-visor of Integrated Childe Development Service( IDCS) of Mohana, Mrs. Sunita Mallick, the Sarpanch of Mohana Gram Panchayat, Sr. Marth, the Coordinator of Health Project, SWAD, and Mr. Naresh Kumar Ranjit, the Coordinator of Conflict Transformation and Peace Building Project, SWAD.

The purpose of celebrating women’s day was to uphold women’s achievements, recognize challenges, focus greater attention on women’s right, gender equality, technology for gender equality, and women’s the safeguard of Peace in the society.

Women from different gram Panchayats of Mohana Block gathered together at High School circle for past marching. Mr. Prashant Kumar, the Inspector in Charge (IIC) of Mohana inaugurated by cutting the reborn. He encouraged and congratulated them on this auspicious occasion of international women’s day. The police staff supported and maintained discipline during the past marching from High School circle to premises of Block Office peacefully.
