I am pleased to introduce the Annual Report 2019-2020 which gratefully celebrates the work of Society for Welfare, Animation and Development – SWAD during the past one year. I pay tribute to all of those responsible for the amazing work that stands as a testimony of SWAD. Every year SWAD is able to strive and has more impact in the lives of socially, economically and educationally vulnerable communities in the societies. It is almost three decades, SWAD is active in responding the vulnerable communities in different interventions such as livelihood promotion, education, health, agro-entrepreneurship, natural resource management, justice and peacebuilding, basic rights and entitlements, vocational skill development, empowerment of women and other excluded groups in the societies, relief and rehabilitations in times of disaster, climate change, etc. These noble initiatives are materialized through the generous and benevolent collaborators of national and international aid agencies; through the cooperative partners; through the dedicated staff and volunteers; and through the supportive stakeholders and Government line departments. I wholeheartedly pay tribute to each individual who has been toiled contributing directly and indirectly to augment the vision, mission and objectives of SWAD.
SWAD continues implementing quality interventions and developing focused initiatives that address critical and established gaps within elementary livelihoods, health care, skills training, peacebuilding and disaster response in the neglected, interiors, mountainous, disaster prone areas. It ensures that the vulnerable communities are able to live their lives with dignity and self-reliance through relevant government schemes as well as other developmental activities led by CBOs. SWAD hopes to make a difference especially by building community capacity and strengthening CBO infrastructures to ameliorate the life of the communities mostly affected by this debilitating condition supplementing its efforts for UN Sustainable Development Goals that encompass poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice.
I extend my best wishes to each and every member of SWAD family, and its associate network partners to pursue the worthy and noble actions with conviction, humility and determination.
