40 rural villages situated deep inside the forest and hills of Khariguda & Gulluba gram panchayats of Mohana Block in Gajapati have been active participants of Jeevika, with the funding support from Vista Hermosa Foundation and Catholic Relief Services of the USCCB since November 2009 to promote integrated livelihood security of the poor.

The project turned out to be a show case of Improved Agricultural Practices not only to the district agricultural department of the government of Odisha but also the funding partner Catholic Relief Services

Through the combined effort of the project team, funding partner, other CSOs in the target area and the government agencies SWAD could bring about a Change in the area promoting improved varieties of agricultural practices such as line sawing, SRI methods of paddy.
