SWAD has been implementing the project titled “Conflict Transformation and Peace Building Initiative in Gajapati district of Odisha” in collaboration with Katholische Zentralstelle für Entwicklungshilfe e. V. (KZE)/MISEREOR with the third party support of Mensen met een Missie, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and Caritas India (CI) since 2015. This initiative is implemented through a Peace Network consisting of 10 CSO Partners [(1) SWAD (Lead CSO), (2) ALOK, (3) IWD, (4) PRAVA, (5) ODISA, (6) SACAL, (7) SAHANUBHUTI, (8) SFDC (9) VIEWS and (10) VICALP] from the project area covering 11 Gram Panchayats (GPs) comprising of 96 villages of 6895 households (Adivasi – 2815, Dalit – 754, OBC/Dalit Christian – 1808 and Others/General – 1518) with 31936 population, of which 16073 are female and 15863 male (Adivasi/ST – 13120, Dalit/SC – 3303, OBC/Dalit Christian – 8975 and Others/General – 6538). The project is being implemented by 35 qualified and experienced staff as peace workers and volunteers.
